Before and after the
Washington, DC semester, each student is challenged to get involved in a
community service project that he or she has never participated in before,
and one that will stretch their learning. Since 2003, WIP interns have
contributed over 5000 hours of unpaid service and many have remained
committed to their project long after the program has officially ended. WIP
alumni carry on the program's public service tradition through their own
public service organization,
YES--Youth Empowerment Scheme.
